SCHOOL UPDATES

Snow Days Update | Jan 18

We hope you are having a safe, warm, and fun few days off. We have received a few questions about how the unplanned time off will affect the rest of the school year.

Snow Days: Every year we build 6 snow days into the school calendar. This means that we can have 6 weather-related closures without having to make any days up.

Lower School Academics: When we return, lower school classes will pick up where they left off.

Upper School Academics: There may be an increased number of assessments next week as students will be completing tests/quizzes that were scheduled for this week. Many teachers will be utilizing open-book evaluations to maintain pacing and save students time that would have been spent preparing/studying at home.

Remember that dual enrollment classes have continued, and are unaffected by days off at MCS. If you have any questions about assessments upon our return, please reach out to Mrs. Wallace.

Next Week: While tomorrow (Friday) is still up in the air, it looks like we will be back to normal next week. Here are a few important dates to keep in mind.

Important Dates:

  • January 23-24: Senior Retreat

  • January 25: PK-12 Preview Day (9:00 am)

  • February 16: NO SCHOOL for Parent-Teacher Conferences

  • February 19: NO SCHOOL for Presidents' Day

  • February 29: PK-K Preview Day

  • March 8: PK-12th Grade Abbreviated Day

  • March 11-15: NO SCHOOL for Spring Break

  • March 18-22: Standardized testing for 2nd-8th grades

Preview Day: MCS will be hosting a PK-12th grade preview day for new prospective families on Thursday, January 25, at 9:00 am. If you know of families interested in MCS, please let them know about this opportunity.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: MCS will be closed on February 16 for Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will begin reaching out next week to schedule needed meetings.

Dash and Dodge: Our annual dodgeball tournament (Upper School) and fun run (Lower School) fundraiser will be on April 18th. Due to this event, this day will be a half day for all students. More information will be sent out in the coming weeks.
