“Coaching at Maryville Christian has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. It has created lasting relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. I have been blessed to coach many great young men, but the biggest blessing has been how they have made an incredible impact on my life that has led to me being a better man and coach.”

Coach Brian Turbyfill is in his fourth year as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Athletic Director for Maryville Christian School. He has been coaching basketball at MCS for the last 7 years. Originally from Lenoir City, TN, Coach Turbyfill played High School basketball at Concord Christian School in Knoxville where he was a 4-year starter and 3-year captain. Coach Turbyfill is married to his wife Makayla and considers her and his parents as the biggest supporters in his coaching career.

I hope that in my time here I can develop young men of character who can become great men, leaders, husbands, and fathers. Baseball is a game of life lessons and I hope the guys can grow in our program."

Coach Griffin Tate is in his first year as the Assistant Athletic Director and Co-Head Baseball Coach at Maryville Christian.  Coach Tate is in his sixth-year coaching overall with stops at Johnson University, Harmony High School in St. Cloud, Florida, and Clinton High School in Clinton, TN. Coach Tate’s baseball career consisted of being an all-state pitcher, two years at Asbury University, and three years at Johnson University. He is supported by his wife Kristi and knows that he wouldn’t be the coach he is without her sacrifice.
