Mr. Schottleutner is beginning his 43rd year in Christian education and has served in schools in Colorado, Ohio, New York, Florida, and Costa Rica. He has a B.A. in Social Science and a master's in Christian school administration. He and his wife, Robin, have been married for 44 years and have four adult children and six grandchildren. Mr. Schottleutner's favorite verse of scripture is Psalm 25:4-5, "Show me Your ways, O Lord;Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day." Mr. Schottleutner is thankful the Lord brought him to MCS and truly enjoys serving our students, staff, and parents.
Preschool and Elementary Principal
Dawn Shillington is beginning her first year as the preschool and elementary principal. Before taking her first educational leadership position in a Christian preschool, she taught various ages of children from preschool through middle school. She has over 20 years of experience in Christian and public school education. Mrs. Shillington recently moved to east Tennessee from Arizona. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona, and a master's degree from Northern Arizona University. She has an elementary teaching certificate from Arizona and Tennessee and an Elementary Principal Certificate from ACSI. Mrs. Shillington and her husband, Chuck, have three children and one grandchild. Mrs. Shillington's favorite scripture comes from James 5:16, "Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayers of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
Middle and High School Principal
This is Mr. Thornton’s first year at MCS and he is serving as the Middle and High School Principal. He taught and administered schools in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington State and Tennessee. With eighteen years in the classroom and fifteen years as a building administrator, he brings a wealth of educational experience to our school. He has also been active in Christian service as a pastor, deacon, and chaplain for a local sheriff’s department.Mr. Thornton earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from George Williams College in Illinois and a master’s degree Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He is currently certified as an administrator in the states of Washington, New Mexico and with ACSI. He and his wife, Eileen, live in Seymour. They have two grown daughters and three grandchildren. Director of Athletics
Ben Pottorff joined the MCS team in 2018 as the Athletic Director. He has previously served for 17 years as a full-time student pastor in Tennessee, Georgia, and Kentucky. He recently served for almost three years as a campus pastor at the University of Tennessee with Campus Crusade. Mr. Pottorff has a BS in Sport and Exercise Science from Bethel University where he played baseball, and he has completed 30 hours of his MA in Christian Education from Southern Seminary. He and his wife, Lesli, celebrated 18 years of marriage in June; they have two sons, Isaac (17) and Eli (15) who are both students at MCS and participate in athletics here. Mr. Pottorff is excited about the athletic ministry here at MCS and can't wait to see what the Lord does for MCS through athletics. His favorite passage is Colossians 3:1-10.
Sharon Floyd is the Business Manager and this is her third year at MCS. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bob Jones University. Sharon and her husband, Greg, have three boys who are all students at MCS; Andrew, Tyler, and Parker. Mrs. Floyd's favorite thing about MCS is the people, and her favorite verse comes from Psalm 139:29-24, "Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! Leah Chason Elliott
Assistant to the Administrator/Admissions Coordinator
Leah Elliott is the Assistant to the Administrator and acts as the Admissions Coordinator for MCS. She has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and has been at MCS since May 2000. Mrs. Elliott's son, Cody, is married and has 2 daughters; Jasmine and Julianna. Mrs. Elliott enjoys working at MCS because she gets to work alongside men and women who love the Lord. Laura Gribble is starting her first year at MCS as the Administrative Assistant in the main office. She has an Associate of Arts degree from Pellissippi State. She and her husband have seven children, two of whom attend MCS. Mrs. Gribble and her family worship at Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Her favorite verse is Colossians 3:17: "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Mary Elizabeth Murrell
Mary Elizabeth Murrell works in the main office as the receptionist, lunch coordinator, and is assigned to assist the business office, the athletic department, and the maintenance department. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Minor in Sports Medicine with a Concentration in Athletic Training from Mars Hill University in North Carolina. She and her husband, John, were married in 2017. They have four children, Gentry and Erin, who are both students at MCS, and Garrett and Landon. Her favorite verse of scripture is Philippians 4:13.
Mr. Randolph joined the administrative team at MCS during the spring of 2017 as the Development Director. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Pensacola Christian College. He served in pastoral ministry for 15 years and taught for 7 years at Liberty University. He has overseen fundraising activities, been involved in capital campaigns and worked in event planning. He and his wife, Jessica, have been married since 2006 and have two children - Dawson and Bella. Mr. Randolph's favorite verse is Philippians 1:6 - "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Nurse - Clinic
Mrs. Bolinger holds an Associate in Science degree from South College and is beginning her third year here at MCS. She and her husband, Darrell, have two boys, Thomas (9th grade) and William (7th grade) who are both students here at MCS. The Bolinger family attends Clark's Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Bolinger enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her favorite thing about MCS is the love the teachers and staff show her sons and her family. Her favorite scripture verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: "Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
