There is no one who has had as much of a positive impact on our Upper School students as Mr. Holden. To free him up to invest even more time and energy into our students, we are splitting his responsibilities for the next school year.
Mr. Holden will be our Upper School Director of Student Life. In this role, he will lead the planning of chapels, Life Groups, student events, and retreats. In addition, he will be the administrator over upper school class trips, will teach a new class on leadership as well as the Team Sports class, and will remain a part of our Executive Leadership Team.
Partnering with Mr. Holden in the leadership of the Upper School will be Mr. Travis Haynes. Mr. Haynes will fill the role of Upper School Principal. In this role, Mr. Haynes will be overseeing student discipline issues, working with teachers on academic-related tasks, working with Mrs. Wallace in providing teacher observations, evaluating curriculum, as well as teaching an Upper School Math course. Mr. Haynes will also serve as the Assistant Head of School.
Mr. Haynes has been in education for almost 30 years. In that time, he has taught Upper School Math, served as a principal, coached soccer, and been an Athletic Director. He has a BA in Math and an MA in Education with a concentration in Leadership and Curriculum & Instruction. He is a wonderful addition to our school's administration team.
Mr. Haynes will start at MCS on June 3rd.
