MCS Update | October 14

1- Parent/Teacher Conferences: Please remember that next Thursday afternoon, October 20th, and all day Friday, October 21st will be Parent/Teacher Conference days. If you have not yet scheduled your teacher conference, please contact either the Lower or Upper school offices.

Due to the Parent/Teacher Conferences, next Thursday, October 20th will be an early dismissal day, and there will be no school on Friday, October 21st.

2- Early Dismissal Pick-up Adjustment: In an attempt to improve our early dismissal process, we are making some adjustments based on what we learned prior to Fall Break.

Lower School carline (preK-6) will begin at 11:15.

Upper School carline (grades 7-12) will begin at 11:45.

Pickup will take place like any other day but at the early dismissal times.

3- Winter Sports Store: You can shop our winter sports and school spirit store at this link- https://bsnteamsports.com/shop/r8SRs9DUgN

4- Movie Night: The Eagle Force will be hosting an outdoor movie night at the school this Saturday, October 15th in the pick-up circle outside the gym. “Doors” will open at 7 pm, and the movie (Finding Nemo) will begin at 8 pm. Concessions will be available for purchase.

5- Fall Portrait Make-Ups: October 19th is our Fall Portrait Make-Up date for any new students or students who were absent for the original picture day.

6- Spirit Night Fundraisers: Over the next several months we will have spirit nights at local restaurants that have agreed to give a percentage of their sales back to MCS.

The first Spirit Night will be at Salsarita’s in Alcoa on Thursday, October 27th. While they are running the promotion from 11:00-9:00, we are encouraging as many MCS families as possible to attend between 5 & 8. You must mention that you are with MCS for us to receive credit.

7- Grandparents’ Day/Veterans Day: Thursday, November 10th, will be a day to celebrate our grandparents. We will have breakfast finger foods and a short Veterans Day-themed program starting at 9:00 am. Doors to the gym will open at 8:30 am.

In observance of Veterans Day, there will be no school on Friday, November 11th.

8- Homecoming: The 2022-2023 MCS Homecoming will be on Friday, December 16th. This event will include food trucks, men’s and women’s basketball games, and a homecoming court at halftime of the men’s game.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out.

Have a great weekend.
