MCS Update | May 16

As a reminder, here is a list of each grade's final day of school.


Preschool: Friday, May 17 following the PK Celebration at MCS at 10:00 AM.

Kindergarten: Monday, May 20 following Kindergarten Graduation at 9:30 AM in the Gym.

1st-5th Grade: Tuesday, May 21 following Field Day (9:00-11:00 AM at MCS) and Award Ceremony (6:30 PM at First Baptist Maryville).

6th-11th Grade: Wednesday, May 22 following final capstone.



Important Dates:

  • May 17: Senior Legacy Walk (9 AM At MCS)

  • May 18: High School Graduation (10 AM at First Baptist Maryville)

  • May 20: Kindergarten Graduation (9:30 AM at MCS)

  • May 21: 1st - 5th Grade Field Day (Abbreviated Day for Lower School)

  • May 21: 1st - 5th Award Night (First Baptist Maryville at 6:30 PM)

  • May 21-22: Upper School Capstones (Abbreviated Day for Upper School)

  • May 25- June 1: Senior Missions Trip to Guatemala


Last Day for Purchased Lunches: Tomorrow, May 17, will be the final day of purchased lunches for your student. On Monday, May 20, all students will need to bring a sack lunch.


Capstones: Capstones for 6th-11th grade students are May 21-22. Please remember that these are mandatory attendance days. Students who are not present for their capstones will receive a zero. In cases of illness or family emergency, please contact our Academic Dean at dana.wallace@mcstn.org to make arrangements.


Senior Mission Trip Supplies: Thank you to all of you who supported our seniors and their mission trip to Guatemala by providing ministry resources.  It is a tremendous help! If there are orders from the list that haven't yet made it to the school office, would you please communicate that to Keith Abernathy at keith.abernathy@mcstn.org sometime today or tomorrow?  Mr. Abernathy plans to order the remainder of the listed items over the next few days.


MCS Summer Sports Camps: You can register for any of the Sports Camps listed below HERE. Registration closes on May 22.



Summer Camp Options: As a reminder, MCS will not be offering a Summer program this year. Here are some other options you can consider.


Maryville-Alcoa Parks and Recreation: Blount County Parks & Rec Summer Day Camps


While this is not necessarily an official stamp of approval for these organizations, we did want to make you aware of some local opportunities.
