Part of our vision at MCS is to “enhance the ministry of the local church and our school.” One of the ways we accomplish this is by promoting "community" here on campus, in our local community, as well as globally. Many people at MCS comment on the family feel they experience here. We offer many ways to create this sense of community whether it’s on our campus with special events (Veterans Day chapel, One Book Blitz activities, etc.); in our local community from our 6th grade service project at Wesley Woods to our choir performances and drama productions; cheering on sports teams in a wholesome environment; and globally, from our 10th grade mission trip in South Dakota to our 12th grade mission trip in Guatemala. We value community starting inside our walls and emanating throughout the world.
The MCS Parent Teacher Organization helps promote our sense of community here on campus. Our PTO shows their love and support of our faculty and staff weekly with their Friday Fun Cart and monthly by randomly selecting faculty/staff members to receive a fully cooked chicken dinner. The PTO encourages our students in many ways including distributing Kindness Rocks throughout the school and even hosting a literacy night in conjunction with the book fair. Our families are enriched by our PTO from new family welcome gifts to family paint parties. The PTO even reaches out to our surrounding community through efforts such as our Christmas Festival. Our PTO is led by the amazing duo of Ann Damron and Jenny Goins.
