Drama opportunities are offered as an extra-curricular activity at MCS. In the past few years, the middle and high school students have presented a play at a local theater. In the fall of 2014, the drama department presented "Just Another High School Play" to a sold out crowd at the Capitol Theater. In the fall of 2016, our middle and high school students presented Cheaper by the Dozen."  In addition, students in kindergarten through sixth grade have the opportunity to participate in the fall musicals such as  "Agape League," "Race to Win," and  "Not Your Average Joe."

Each spring a major drama production is presented with involvement from students in grades kindergarten through 12th. During the spring of 2014, students presented Disney's "The Little Mermaid, JR." at the Clayton Center for the Arts. It was a huge success and led to preparations for the next performance. The spring of 2015 showcased Disney's "Beauty and the Beast, JR.", and in the spring of 2016 our students presented "Peter Pan, JR." Other performances have included "Mary Poppins" and "Singin' in the Rain, Jr."

Our drama performances are sponsored by Allcor Staffing. Over 75 students spend months practicing while costumes and props are prepared by generous parent and grandparent volunteers. These performances provide an opportunity for the gifts and talents of our special students to be displayed. Thank you to all of our parents, grandparents, students, staff, volunteers, and community friends who make these productions possible or who support us by attending a performance!
