Weekly art classes are a part of the MCS elementary curriculum.
Whether your student has an interest in developing their singing voice, a talent for instrumental music, a flair for the dramatic, or would rather pick up a paintbrush, the Creative Arts Department at Maryville Christian School provides an activity for everyone interested in music, art, and drama. With popular programs and experienced faculty, our students get an early start in developing their talents.
Elementary students are exposed to instruments and singing at an early age, and by the time they reach the fifth grade, they are participating in the MCS orchestra. Students also have the opportunity to join the MCS chorus or perform with the Chapel team as they get into high school.
Students interested in drama have the opportunity to try out for various productions within each school year. Elementary students are also offered the option of participating in the Creative Arts Kids Club which is an extra-curricular activity designed to help students with singing and acting.
MCS Student Artwork on Display
Be sure to check out our students' art work at the Blount County Library during the month of November. Our K-6th grades have artwork displayed on the back wall of the library, and the 6th grade also has poetry displayed. The 2nd grade has a showcase in the entryway.
