The MCS preschool is committed to providing a developmentally appropriate environment which will encourage children to grow intellectually, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  The preschool is a vital part of the ministry of Maryville Christian School and is designed to provide a nurturing, Christian environment for each child.  A separate class for each age is available.

The staff is comprised of trained professionals who promote a good line of communication between teacher, parent, and child.  The program is based on basic Christian values and principles in accordance with the philosophy of Maryville Christian School.  We recognize that each child is an individual and develops at different rates.

The class size is small to provide individual attention.  A variety of activities are provided, both structured and unstructured.  There is unlimited creativity available for the preschool students. The preschool follows an academic curriculum designed to prepare students for Kindergarten.

Because we recognize there are varied needs for each family, we offer several options for participation in our preschool program:

  • 5 days per week for ages 3, 4, and 5
                          OR
  • 3 days per week for ages 3 and 4
  • 2 days per week for ages 3 and 4

Think STEM is just for older students??? Not at MCS! Our amazing preschool teachers & students have been excited about working on a cooperative STEM market simulation for the past several weeks.

They developed a project-based learning environment focused on the Grocery Store. Project-based learning units encourage students to be creative by imagining, inventing, implementing, and improving their own ideas while collaborating with others. The preschoolers designed a store using classrooms, counted money, wrote shopping lists, sorted food, counted inventory, and read food labels during their pretend play. Some even dressed as store managers, cashiers, etc.

Some of the social skills students developed during the STEM project included taking turns, sharing, waiting, controlling their impulses, and expressing their feelings through appropriate actions and words.
