Dr. Wallace joined MCS in early 2020 as our Head of School. He has leadership experience working on the college campus as a Director of Admissions and Alumni, and he has served as a Senior Pastor, leading churches of various sizes with multiple staff. He has also served on the Board of Directors for several ministry-focused nonprofit organizations. Dr. Wallace has a Bachelor of Science in Bible with minors in Business and Psychology, a Master of Christian Education, a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Administration. Jeremy and his wife, Dana, are originally from East Tennessee and have two sons, Nathan and Jonathan.
Mr. Thornton joined MCS as the Middle and High School Principal in 2018. He taught and administered schools in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Washington State and Tennessee. With eighteen years in the classroom and fifteen years as a building administrator, he brings a wealth of educational experience to our school. He has also been active in Christian service as a pastor, deacon, and chaplain for a local sheriff’s department.Mr. Thornton earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from George Williams College in Illinois and a master’s degree Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He is currently certified as an administrator in the states of Washington, New Mexico and with ACSI. He and his wife, Eileen, live in Seymour. They have two grown daughters and three grandchildren. Dawn Shillington joined MCS as the preschool and elementary principal in 2018. Before taking her first educational leadership position in a Christian preschool, she taught various ages of children from preschool through middle school. She has over 20 years of experience in Christian and public school education. Mrs. Shillington recently moved to east Tennessee from Arizona. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona, and a master's degree from Northern Arizona University. She has an elementary teaching certificate from Arizona and Tennessee and an Elementary Principal Certificate from ACSI. Mrs. Shillington and her husband, Chuck, have three children and one grandchild. Mrs. Shillington's favorite scripture comes from James 5:16, "Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayers of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
Dana joined MCS in March of 2020 as our Academic and Accreditation Coordinator. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music, a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership, and a master’s level certification for middle grades. Dana has taught in the classroom, has been an elementary principal, has been part of the accreditation renewal process, and is currently serving on an ACSI accreditation renewal team. She is also pursuing an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Liberty University. Dana is focusing on ensuring that MCS is prepared for its ACSI accreditation renewal visit in 2021.
Sharon Floyd is the Business Manager and this is her third year at MCS. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bob Jones University. Sharon and her husband, Greg, have three boys who are all students at MCS; Andrew, Tyler, and Parker. Mrs. Floyd's favorite thing about MCS is the people, and her favorite verse comes from Psalm 139:29-24, "Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."
