Introduction

 

The mission of Maryville Christian School is to partner with Christian parents by providing an academically excellent, Biblically-based education, producing students with distinctive Christian character.

 

The staff at Maryville Christian School recognizes that all students learn differently.  In order to reach all students we provide several different programs in support of the general curriculum while striving for excellence.

 

Academic Support

·        Classroom teachers provide academic support for all students after school until 3:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays.

·        Classroom teachers provide academic support for all students after school until 3:45 on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

·        This time can be used for make-up tests and homework help.

·        There is no charge for this support.

 

Tutorial Services

·        One-on-one sessions provided during school hours or after school.

·        Sessions provided by qualified personnel in the areas of reading, math, written expression, and social interaction.

·        $25 per 1 hour session

 

Lindamood-Bell

·        Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes is an organization dedicated to enhancing human learning.  Programs include: Seeing Stars, LIPS, Visualizing & Verbalizing, and Talkies.

·        $25 per 1 hour session.

NILD Discovery Program

·        For students who have had psycho-educational testing and have been
identified as needing support in developing processing and cognitive
development, the Discovery Program is a good fit.

·        Individual students meet twice a week with an educational therapist who will assist students in acquiring skills and strategies for learning.

Backpack & Agenda Check

·        Helping students in grades 4-12 learn responsibility, accountability, and organization.

·        Students “check-out” through the Backpack & Agenda Check before leaving the school building each day.

·        $25 per semester

·        Beginning in January 2010.
