Educational Purpose:

The goal of education at Maryville Christian School is to produce Christians trained to walk with and worship God; to fulfill the will of the Lord Jesus Christ in their lives.  Therefore, instruction at Maryville Christian School will be based solely and sounded on scriptural principles, with academic excellence as the standard.  Principles of godliness will be presented in ways developmentally appropriate to individual students and will be reinforced throughout the curriculum.  Students will be nurtured toward a thorough Christian world view and encouraged to assume their God-given roles and responsibilities to the glory of God.

 

 

History of School:

Maryville Christian School was established May 29, 1993, as a not-for-profit organization with a board of directors.  The school is housed on a 33-acre campus in Maryville, Tennessee.  The first graduating senior class was in 2001.  Maryville Christian School has been a continuous member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

 

 

Accreditation:

Maryville Christian School is accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Faculty:

Twenty-seven full-time and eight part-time faculty members represent a variety of academic and denominational backgrounds.  All faculty members possess college degrees and 43 percent possess master's degrees.  Many of our faculty members possess state teaching certification and the majority are certified by ACSI.

 

 

 

                       

Student Body:

Graduation Requirements for Students Beginning High School in Fall 2009:

Twenty-four (24) units of credit in the following major subjects are required:

Grading System:

Grade Point Average (GPA) of high school transcripts for college and university use is to be calculated at the end of the junior year, the end of the first semester of the senior year, and upon graduation.   The following grading scale is used.

                        80-84                2.5

                        77-79                2.0

                        70-76                1.0

                        Below 70          0.0

 

All credits earned in honors courses have an additional quality point added to them.
