The "HisKids" PE Program

 

The mission of "HisKids Sports" is to utilize sports and physical education as a means of engaging children with the truth of the Gospel.  Our elementary students have the privilege of participating in a physical education program that is excellent physically and spiritually.  "HisKids Sports" developed and piloted the curriculum at Maryville Christian.  The "HisKids" PE program is utilized by preschool thru 6th grades. 

"HisKids Sports" is a ministry dedicated to glorifying God by partnering with Christian Organizations to magnify the infinite worth of Jesus Christ.  The vision of HisKids is to utilize effective athletic training saturated with sound biblical instruction and to demonstrate that the most effective way for a person to excel in sports is to pursue holiness through Christ-centered sanctification as they participate.

Honoring God

God has given us bodies with which we are told to honor Him (1 Cor. 6:18-20). 

Learning Opportunity

PE class is a wonderful opportunity to learn correct and safe ways in which we can train our bodies to be healthy and use them in ways that honor God. 

Applying Biblical Truths

PE is also a wonderful opportunity for students to practice applying the biblical truths they are learning in the classroom.  They can begin to understand what it means to pursue holiness above all else; in this case, pursuing holiness and athletic excellence can be a result.

Character Development

Also, PE class provides students with a laboratory in which to practice being kind, compassionate, gracious, and thinking of others above themselves (Gal. 5:22-23 & Phil. 2:3-4).
