FACULTY
Our faculty at Maryville Christian School is a talented group of professionals who serve faithfully in this ministry. They have an average of 16 years of teaching experience and possess college degrees along with teaching credentials. Most importantly, they have two things in common. First, they are devoted followers of Jesus Christ and show a deep love for Him in their ministry here. Second, they have a love for students and are committed to the success of each and everyone. As a result, you walk around the MCS campus and see a relationship among faculty and students you may may not find elsewhere. MCS is a close knit community of people who genuinely care about each other.
Administration
Glenn Slater 
Administrator
Mr. Slater holds a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees from East Texas State University. He is certified by ACSI as both a teacher and an administrator. Mr. Slater began his career in education in 1979 and came to MCS in July 2002. His life verse is I Peter 5:6: "Humble yourselves, therefore under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time."
Robin Adams 
Elementary Principal
Mrs. Adams holds a bachelor's degree from Carson Newman College and a master's degree from The University of Tennessee. She began teaching in 1982 and joined MCS in August 2000. She has attained the Tennessee Career Ladder III, was a 1993 C.A.R.E. Educator Nominee, received a Blount County Education Foundation and Chamber of Commerce Grant, and is certified by ACSI. Mrs. Adams' life verse is Romans 8:38-39: "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Jackie Klima
Middle & High School Principal
Mrs. Klima has a bachelor's degree from North Carolina State and a master's degree from Tennessee Temple University. She is certified by ACSI. Mrs. Klima has been in education since 1977 and came to MCS in August 2001. Her life verse is Philippians 1:20-21: "According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
Pre-School

Pre-School Teacher
Mrs. Powell holds a bachelor's degree from The University of Tennessee and a master's degree from Liberty University. She has been working in the pre-school field since 1996 and joined MCS in 2004. Her life verse is Galatians 2:20: "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me."
Paula Toombs 
Pre-School Teacher
Mrs. Toombs holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary education from Carson Newman College. She began her teaching career in 1992 and joined MCS in 2006. Her life verse is Matthew 4: 16: "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in Heaven."
Laura Huff
Mrs. Huff holds a bachelor's degree from Carson Newman College. She had two years of teaching experience before joining MCS in January, 2011. Her life verse is Jeremiah
29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans
to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a
future."
Karen Pietzyk 
Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Pietzyk joined MCS in August 2006. Her life verse is James 1: 2-4: "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance, and let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."

Donna Browning
Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Browning completed high school in Orlando, Florida and graduated from Orange County Vocational Tech, where she received certification in a dental program. She came to work at MCS in August 1997. Her life verse is Isaiah 41: 10: "Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand."
Madeline Bishop
Elementary Spanish (K - 3)
Mrs. Bishop holds a bachelor's degree from King College. She has several years of experience in teaching elementary students the Spanish language by not just memorizing it, but by mastering and loving it. Mrs. Bishop starting teaching Spanish to the elementary students at MCS during the Fall of 2010. Her life verse is Jeremiah 29:11-14: "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, "declares the Lord, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the Lord, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you to exile."
Barbara McClellan
Kindergarten
Mrs. McClellan holds a bachelor's degree from St. Cloud University and is certified by ACSI. She began teaching in 1969 and came to MCS when the school opened in August 1994. Her life verse is 2 Corinthians 5:7, 9: "For we walk by faith, not by sight. Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to him."
Heather Newberry
Mrs. Newberry holds a bachelor's degree from California State. She began her teaching career in 1999 and joined MCS in August, 2006. Her life verse is Deuteronomy 6: 5: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength."
Ella Smithey
Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Smithey has 17 years of teaching experience and 10 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant. Mrs. Smithey returned to MCS in August of 2010. Her life verse is Proverbs 3: 5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowlege Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
Wendy Coppedge
Mrs. Coppedge holds a bachelor's degree from Tenessee Wesleyan and a master's degree from Tennessee Tech. She began her teaching career in 1995 and joined MCS in August, 2006. Her life verse is Matthew 11: 28-29: "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls."
Tracy Moreno
1st Grade
Mrs. Moreno holds a bachelor's degree from Pensacola Christian College. She started her teaching career in 1999 and came to MCS in August 2008. Mrs. Moreno's life verse is Mark 11:22: "And Jesus answering saith unto them; have faith in God."
Mechelle McCampbell
Teaching Assistant
Mrs. McCampbell came to MCS in August of 2008. Her life verse is Proverbs 3: 5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."
Ann Damron
2nd Grade
Mrs. Damron holds a bachelor's degree from Maryville College. She had 8 years of teaching experience before coming to MCS in August 2011. Mrs. Damron's life verse is Romans 5:8: "But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Carol Evans 
2nd Grade
Mrs. Evans holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary education from Maryville College. She served overseas with the International Mission Board from August 1998 through July 2005. She joined MCS in November, 2007. Her life verse is Micah 6: 8: "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"

Mrs. Hall holds a bachelor's degree from Carson Newman College and a master's degree from Nova Southeastern University. She has been in education for 7 years and came to MCS in August of 2009. Her life verse is Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
Leanne Caldwell

Mrs. Caldwell joined MCS in August 2005. Her life verse is Psalm 19:14: " Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer."

Mrs. Ivens has a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College. She began her teaching career in 2008 and joined MCS in August 2009. Her life verse is Proverbs 31:30: "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised."

Ms. Schettler holds a bachelor's degree from Maryville College. She began her teaching career in 2009 and joined MCS in August of 2010. Jennifer Fiebig

Mrs. Fiebig holds a bachelor's degree from Truman University and a master's degree from Northern Illinois University. She had 9 years of teaching experience before she joined MCS in August of 2010. Her life verse is Isaiah 30:15: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength."

Mr. Jarvis holds a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech University. He joined MCS in August of 2010. Mr. Carter holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the University of Tennessee. He has 34 years of teaching and administrative experience in the Maryville City Schools. Mr. Carter joined MCS in August of 2010. His life verse is Philippians 1:6: "Being confident of this, He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Amy Lingerfelt
Librarian, M/S Technology
Mrs. Lingerfelt holds a bachelor's degree from Pensacola Christian College and a master's degree from The University of Tennessee. She also is certified by ACSI. She began teaching in 1993 and came to MCS in August 1997. Her life verse is Lamentations 3:22-23: "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness."
Beth Clark
Clinic Coordinator
Mrs. Clark is a Registered Nurse and has received an Associate of Applied Science degree from Regents College. She joined MCS in October, 2005. Her life verse is Psalm 37:4: "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart."
Kim Burroughs
His Kids PE Assistant Teacher & M/S Girls PE
Mrs. Burroughs joined MCS in August 2008. She has four years experience with the His Kids PE Program. Her life verse is Psalm 27:4: "One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord, and to seek Him in His temple."

Mrs. DeLozier holds a bachelor's degree from Maryville College and a master's degree from the University of Tennessee. She has been teaching since 1989 and came to MCS in August 2007. And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep."

Mrs. Hampton holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from Morehead State University and has been teaching since 1974. She joined MCS in August of 2005. Mrs. Hampton's life verse is Philippians 4: 4-8: "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God that transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Mr. Lindstrom holds an associate degree from Pellissippi State Community College. He has been with MCS since 2000 and began teaching in 2004. His life verse is 1 Corn. 9:24: " Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."
Tamyra Parks
Art
Mrs. Parks holds a bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University. She joined MCS in August of 2010. Her life verse is Psalm 103: 1-5: "Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles."
Phil Reynolds

Mr. Reynolds holds a master's degree from Reformed Theological Seminary and has been in the teaching field since 2001. He joined MCS in November 2004. Mr. Reynolds' life verses are Hebrews 1: 3a: "And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power." and John 1:18: "No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him."
Maria Toncray

Mrs. Toncray holds a bachelor's degree from Ohio Dominican College. She has 15 years experience working in a medical laboratory. She came to MCS in August of 2008. Her life verse is Romans 8:28: "I am assured and know that God being a partner in my labor all things work together and are fitting into a plan for good to and for me because I love God and I'm called according to His design and purpose."
Debbie Wright

Mrs. Wright holds a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Tech University. She began her teaching career in 1993 and came to MCS in August 2009. Her life verse is Proverbs 3: 5-6: " Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
